Primus - American rock band, trio, founded in the mid 1980's. The leader of the group - frontman, vocalist and bass player Les Kleypul. Permanent guitarist is Larry LaLonde. The group worked with several drummers, but recorded only two: Tim «Herb» Alexander and Bryan «Brain» Mantia. Primus music style is difficult to determine. Typically, critics describe it as funk metal or alternative metal, and the musicians themselves were called all sorts of terms, such as thrash-funk. Forest Kleypul once described their music "Psychedelic polka."
